Understanding treatments

Many natural hair loss treatments have been formulated with ingredients that have links to hair growth properties but few have been clinically and scientifically proven to work. Certain hair regrowth methods work for some people and for others they don't. The reason for this is simple. Genetic diversity. If we were all genetically the same, we would have found a cure to hair loss decades ago and it would work for everyone. (The human species would also die out as a result but we would all have hair). Its diversity that keeps our species alive, so priorities are in order.

It would be extremely difficult to chemically formulate something that would regrow hair with out any side effects and work for everyone. So it makes sense that a solution would be found in nature, especially when nature has spent millions of years developing these natural substances and cures. Something that humans could never recreate and perfect.

Natural hair loss treatment quest

In our quest for a natural hair loss treatment, Japanese scientists used logic and stumbled upon something very simple. A natural substance with the potential capability to actual regrow hair. It makes sense that the substance would be found in a fruit of vegetable since its already been proven that fruits and vegetables build very strong fibers in our bodies. A perfect example of this is the use of wine and grapes in France. The polyphenols in wine keep them free of most disease and ailments. Upon testing botanical extracts in Japan, they found that one of the most widely available fruits has an even stronger form of these polyphenols, including one very special polyphenol.

They found that certain apples contain high amounts of polyphenols. One of the apple polyphenols is procyanidin b2. They began isolating and testing the properties of this particular polyphenol b2 from apples to record the benefits and results. On the initial study they discovered it regrew hair on mice that had bald spots. Upon this discovery they knew they had something and started human toxicology studies to determine the safety of apple polyphenols. It turns out that there very safe for human consumption, in fact one of the researchers Takahashi, stated that it had "effectiveness in curing androgenetic alopecia." A natural hair loss treatment. Since apple polyphenols are also water soluble and readily absorbed into the body, they are actually beneficial in high dosage. Combined with exercise and a healthy diet, apple polyphenols are very effective since they would be better distributed throughout the body where its needed.

Natural hair loss treatment - Apple Polyphenols

  • How do apple polyphenols regrow hair?

Apple polyphenols work as a natural hair loss treatment by actually restarting the hair growth process. The procyanidin b2 in apples stimulates the Anagen and Catagen induction in the hair cycle. This is a statement from a study Japan:

"the hair-growing activity of procyanidin oligomers is at least linked to their growth-promoting effects on hair epithelial cells that follow MEK activation and their protective action on TGF-beta(1)- or TGF-beta(2)-induced apoptosis that is assumed to trigger catagen induction in the hair cycle."

"Procyanidin B-2 is a polyphenol compound we have identified in apple which acts as a hair-growing factor in the murine model both in vitro and in vivo. This report describes our investigation of the effects of 1% procyanidin B-2 tonic on human hair growth after sequential use for 6 months. A double-blind clinical test involving a total of 29 subjects was performed. Nineteen men in the procyanidin B-2 group and 10 men in the placebo control group were subjected to analyses. No adverse side effects were observed in either group." "The increase in number of total hairs in the designated scalp area (0.5 cm square = 0.25 cm2 area) of procyanidin B-2 group subjects after the 6-month trial was significantly greater than that of the placebo control group subjects (procyanidin B-2, 6.68 +/- 5.53 (mean +/- SD)/0.25 cm2; placebo, 0.08 +/- 4.56 (mean +/- SD)/0.25 cm2; P < 0.005, two-sample t test). Procyanidin B-2 therapy shows potential as a safe and promising cure for male pattern baldness."

This is just one of the many scientific studies with positive results proving that apple polyphenols are effective as a natural hair loss treatment.

Natural hair growth tips

  • When beginning to take a product for har regrowth, it's important to be positive and focused on the scientific evidence.
  • Reason: If taking a product and telling yourself it won't work, guess what, it won't work no matter what your taking. Positive thinking.
  • Proof: In many different studies for any product, there is always a large portion of the placebo group that has positive results. Have you ever wondered how people taking placebos can have any positive results at all?
  • Positive thinking in combination with a substance that is proven to work in hair regrowth would be very powerful.
  • On top of the hair regrowth, apple polyphenols have many other benefits like fat loss, anti cancer benefits and muscle strength.
  • Massaging the head daily for a couple of minutes at a time will also help stimulate blood flow which will deliver more of the apple ployphenols to that area and aid in the natural hair loss treatment.
